Went to Norfolk again today, wildlife was a little on the sparse side, so I decided to concentrate on "normal stuff" but tried to be a bit different rather than just get "stock" pictures of rarer birds..
The gulls were fighting fiercely over the seeds some of the other photographers had put down to bait the Snowbuntings (which have been done to death) I got some funny looks from a few of the other people, as if to say "wtf is he taking pictures of gulls for" lol, well I just get on with it :)The gulls were really going for it, attacking each other on the wing and screeching at each other, I needed all the shutter speed I could get, all these were shot @ 300mm F2.8,
The last 2 are a sanderling (I think) and an oyster catcher, thrown in for good measure.

Great images! Great sharpness and lovely dof.
I want big fast lens too! Hm... my birthday is in September, hm...

Great shots again Tim. You seem to be getting lovely light most times your out. The weather gods must be smiling at you. :p I think the last one is my favourite, as the slight blur in the legs give a lovely sense of movement.

as has been said, they're all wonderful shots - this is my favourite, but I think it'd be totally perfect if you'd gotten the flying guy's wings in there. Still a spectacular shot, incredibly sharp and a lovely capture, though

Cheers,

In terms of the weather gods smiling, I think it may be more to do with me spamming www.metcheck.com and www.metoffice.gov.uk ;) I was supposed to be in Scotland this week, but the weather is far to dismal up there so i'm hanging on for a while, didn't fancy a 1500 mile trip for the sake of rain.

Cheers,

It was one of my favourites to, I had a few from the sequence but they didn't come close enough to each other, the top gull just kept hovering and screaming lol.

Great shots , incredible shots!!

Question though as i really suck at wildlife shots are these done in manual mode or one of the other modes?

looking at it again, what's it like just cropping around the guy on the floor so he's bottom left third? He has a brilliant stance on his own

truly nice work there, growing up near the sea i've always hated seagulls - but i do like these shots. number 6 and the final one are my favourites, though on the last one - you've airbrushed part of the border on the left hand side ;)
