This link appears to suggest that the whole rally has now been cancelled
I did say several posts up that it's been cancelled indefinitely, but nobody seems to have spotted it :/

tis true.

OT how sis you text me last night?? i thought you had no credit??

man i feel rough :(

Sorry guys but i have to say i really don't agree with this. Yes theres been an accident, which there is every year its just unfortunate this time a life has been taken. Road accidents happen ALL the time and you don't see that bit of road being closed for the next 3 weeks as a sign of respect.

I understand the Gumball is a bit of fun etc. and i hope this doesnt taint the event in anyway because god knows i want to do it before i die!

I think they could have still continued the event, just had no media frenzy party at the end and had a ceremony or something then.

Did it over t'internet, o2 give you 10 free txts a month so i used that.. and yeah, i'm not feeling brilliant myself :/

Back on topic.. I agree that road accidents happen every year and that it's unfortunate that this has happened in the gumball, but the problem is that there are so many of your Bam Margera-type people who will enter it to purely drive like a lunatic. It gives the race a bad image when something like this happens, because most people will instantly hop to the conclusion that they were driving like nutters and caused a fatal accident, though nothing's been proven. Does make you wonder why they ran though..

reading a artical in the paper it says they waited at the scene untill medics whre there. they then proceeded with the rally in a new car.

crazy

I guess it all depends on how the accidnet happened, was the Gumballer racing 100mph on the road and lost control or was the Golf swerving into oncoming traffic?

Thing is, theres not gonna be any evidence either way. The media will probably say he was 'racing' in his 'hyper performance car' at speeds in excess of one billion miles an hour on the wrong side of the road.

Maximillion and his boys will say he was adhering to the speed limit and couldn't avoid the other car coming from a minor road to his or something.

All i can say is im annoyed because Gumball is something i really enjoy, and i hope this doesnt taint it.

ITS OKAAY CAUSE THERE EXPERIENCED DRIVERS IN SICK CARS AM I RITE?

People drive and crash and kill on roads every day in every country.

Why should the gumball be stopped period because of one accident and 2 deaths?

Yes its extremely unfurtunate, yes they were probably speeding but why cancel the whole thing. 9 years the gumball has been going and this is the first accident of its kind

60km/h haha who are they kiddin, they totalled the golf that aint no 30ish mph crash

It's a 15 year old Golf, it's hardly an NCAP 5 star car, is it? You can do a suprising amount of damage to a car at 30mph, or infact, a closing speed of 60mph..
