Just wondering if anyone has ever entered this? And more importantly, I'm looking for information about where exactly the start is in London as I'd like to see the cars set off. :)

Is it back on this year?

Unfortunately I don't even have the entry fee let alone the car. IIRC the fee 2 years ago was 30K entry, 20K if you had entered before.

Wow...I have always found it quite interesting. What are the laws regarding this sort of thing though? Obviously you have to stick to speed limits but do people actually do this?

Well, it starts on the 1st May and finishes on the 7th in New York. Have you guys seen the episode of 'Jackass' where they do the Gumball?

Anyone can enter if they have the cash.

Its just a massive party holiday for the rich really.

Indeed I have seen the Jackass Gumball, but not for a while. Bam Margera has always been a fan and has entered a few with his purple Gallardo.

I enjoyed the ones followed by Ed Leigh too, lucky ******, knew some of his housemates.

Should this be in the motorsport section? Probably not, however I do have a fondness for the Gumball. The events that occured during the last one were tragic, yet ultimately the blame was found to be with the couple who were killed, and that accident could have happened to anyone who just happened to be driving that stretch at that moment.

In a world as PC as the one we live in, its nice to see super cars being used for what they were designed for, and participation in the event does look to be pretty damn fun. I would love to do it, but being a 'normal' individual in a financial sense it will never be a possibility, so at least I get to watch it on tv.

If that makes me a 'wanna be ****' then so be it :D

I was down there the year that he entered with Ryan Dunn and the purple lambo, managed to meet the guy as he was coming out of the car park.

Definitely worth going along as there are sooo many nice cars on show. There was a F40 there the year I went that unfortunately didn't manage to get off the start line, have a pic somewhere of it being pushed along by 3 coppers :)

Afraid I can't remember where about its started last time but it should be on there website.

As gord said as well, you need to be silly rich to be able to enter it. It was at least 20-30k to enter last I heard and then you need the car, money for all the speeding fines and bottles of champers in the evening. One day though... :)

Would love to go down to see this, but unfortunately going to a wedding on the 1st! Grrr! Wonder if Spie fancies entering in his Ferrari???

I was literally opposite you on the pavement you :) I found the F40 down the side street after the commotion died down and got a load more pictures of it.

I'm heading down on the train for the day on Saturday, be on Pall Mall for a little after 10am.
