Gurkhas

And they were trying to refuse these guys, who fought for our country but they let in all the randomers :/

The ****?

Having just seen the news have they actually won the right to stay in this country or did the judge rule that the reason they were not allowed to stay was illegal.

If I have understood it correctly the 2000 Gurkha's will now have their cases reviewed.

Gurkhas are a great asset to the UK, we have some stationed close to me and they never cause trouble, keep their barracks to a far higher standard than many other regiments, and have an excellent reputation as a fighting force - wish we had more of them, and they are far more deserving of the right to stay on in this country after finishing their service than a lot of other groups that the government have allowed in.

Jacqui Smith really does need a slap. It got as far as a court having to tell her what the public have saying for years.

She's shown a total lack of respect shown for some of the finest soldiers in the world, of whom all are far more deserving of a place in our nation than the scum that sit on walls all day drinking White Lightning.

And; did the BBC do this deliberately?

pardon?

anyway, its about time someone stood up to the HO and said, "wait a minute, you're letting scummy trash in just because they're European, but not letting Nepalese men who valiantly fought for this country because of a mere TECHNICALITY what the **** is wrong with you?!?!?!"

Tbh... there are some proper scumbags within the govt/civil service - it is absolutely appalling that they actually went all the way to the high court in order to prevent a tiny number of people, who have loyally served this country, from settling here. If someone has done say 5 years service in the UK armed forces they ought to be given citizenship automatically.

Shocking to think that we dish out assylum, housing benefits & social security payments to any number of Islamic nutters who hate this country yet a group of people who've sworn allegiance to the Queen and have put their life on the line to protect British interests overseas are not welcome to stay.

A victory but a one that should never have been fought in the first place.

Ghurkas have served the British military with tenacity, bravery and guile for the last 200 years and I find it heartbreaking but maddening at the same time where people can enter the country illegally, often to take the proverbial yellow H20 and get a free pass in doing so while people who have served the UK and paid a high price in the process have to resort to this to get what is only right that they should get.

The UK Government should hang its head in shame. It will spend money fighting cases like this but allow other undesirables to get a free ticket.

Go to hell.

Nice to see common sense prevail for once, these men should be welcomed with open arms not treated like second class human beings.
