PCIe1.1 holds up surprisingly well showing, basically, no performance issues with a single GPU. And PCIe 2.0 only loses 3 -5% compared with 3.0 under SLI

Take it from me you do take a hit using PCI-E 1.0 I have tested it loads of times.


Guru3D are also very naughty just using SLI, if they had used CF as well those graphs would have taken a bigger hit lol.


I also wonder why they have avoided using max settings or high resolutions.

Don't think so

Check out the fps scores on the Tomb Raider Ultra bench on this forum for example.

No AMD cards either, perhaps it could have something to do with the extra bandwidth needed though the PCI-E slots as the 290 series don't use cf bridges anymore.

I don't believe SLI is supported using x4, only Crossfire.

my friend is still rocking a q6600 with a 660gtx lol.

gone from GTX 670s with an i5 3570k (pcie 3.0) to a 2700k (pcie 2.0) apart from the processor allowing the cards more room to chug along can't tell a difference between the two pcie speeds
