Gutted :(

Its a sickening feeling alright, i had £1000 worth of audio taken out of my renault 19 16v many moons ago while it was parked on my drive. What made it worse was that i actually heard the alarm go off at 3am and just aimed my remote at it to turn it off!

Yeh I'll certainly be using the Eden one from now on, £1.50 after 6pm isn't much for the peace of mind i'll have, saying that though, I've only seen CCTV near the doors to the lifts, so will park as close to them as I can. I only really used Castle street as it was closer to the 'lope. I don't even drink so I'm rarely in town at night!

Well if you go for a Clifford (especially one with the proximity sensor) you certainly wont have to worry about it going off, that is for certain.

You mean that it wont go off? My friend had a Mk 3 Golf, his Clifford seemed to go off every time you looked at the car!

That was what I was getting at.

Had the same problem with my old Legacy, ended up just disabling the proximity sensor every time I armed the alarm. Completely pointless.

I've parked there hundreds of times, as have many of my friends, never heard of anyone having any trouble (except some drunken people urinating near a car) I've always taken the fascia with me or hidden it in the boot except this one time. Feels likely that they may have been there watching?

Either that or im paranoid!

I had a T reg 306 that got broken into a couple of years ago. It was an aftermarket cd player, an Alpine one, and a good one at that. They broke the back passenger window and quarter panel to get in. I was so annoyed, at myself more than anything for leaving the cd player in. The car parks cctv didn't have any film, or wasn't recording at the time conveniently! Paid £170 for two new pieces of glass to be fitted and bought a cheapo 50 quid cd player.

Yeah Im currently looking for a new door, just dreading any painting thats needed. Will get a cheap CD/MP3 player and then try and sell the car, have had it 3 years now was already time for a change!

Similar thing happened to me back in July. Parked near the DHL depot to pick up a parcel, came back to find my front nearside window smashed and my stereo taken. Cost 70 quid to replace the window and 90 to replace the stereo.

OP: it really does suck, but it will feel good when it's all fixed up.

Benihana where abouts you located? Can probably sort you out with a CD player.

What colour is the 6? and is it 3 or 5 door? Drivers or passengers side?

Try giving local breakers yards a call you'd be surprised how quickly you find the correct door!
