He wants to do a shake down at Castle Combe but don't see that happening with their noise restrictions.

The cynic in me thinks that hes an idiot. It takes a full pit crew of people to even get an F1 car to start. All oils need to be an exact temperature tyres needed to be heated to the right temperature and so much more.

On the other hand hes obviously not short of money so maybe he has the resources to give it a drive.

I hope he realises what's required to actually start an F1 car and i hope it came with a lot of spares too!

Its minus an engine, so I assume the replacement will be far more manageable and easy to run.

For lazy people.

I haven't yet got an ECU in the car, but one will come with the engine we're thinking of using. I'll make sure to do a photo-log when it comes to installing everything.

The engine we have in mind is the 3.0 L H1V8, which is about the correct size and weight to replace the original 2.4 L Honda engine. Its also a very capable unit, which can be made to match the original engine's power output. We plan to start with a milder tune(500 rather than 750 BHP),at least until we are confident with the car. We'll have to make a frame to take the stress loading between the bulkhead and gearbox, as the H1V8 is not really designed to be used as the main stress member.

As for trans, the car still has its original X-trac, but we are probably having to replace it with pneumatic sequential we can have built into the existing carbon housing. Then we can keep the original suspension pick up points.

Need to find out when he does his shakedown at Castle Combe, so I can get pictures of him stacking it :)

Just had a look at the pics and realised who the owner is... he's a her , but Nadine sure can drive . Not seen Bjorn behind the wheel though.

To be fair, a "dog of a car" is only a couple of seconds off the pace per lap, if that - still supreme by any standard. Plus, no normal person would be able to push an F1 car to the limit like that anyway.

Even if they dont get it running, they still own an F1 car, considering millions of people watch them go round a track every other sunday, actually owning one is surely a great thing.
