Guy buys Honda RA107 F1 Car

doesnt count as an f1 car imo seeing as its pretty much stripped of all the technology and beeing used as an expensive chasis

well for a start it wouldnt be allowed to race in any f1 series without the ecu , gearbox , engine and everything else they dont have or are stripping out.

all your left with is a car that looks like an f1 car and probably wont ever behave like one, what rpm engine is going in? .... how much torque will it have?

Its going to have a V10 in there for a start. Just because it doesn't meet the current regulations doesn't suddenly stop it being an F1 car.

???

It doesn't stop being a F1 car just because you stick a different engine in it!
If you look at a series like Euroboss where some recent F1 cars race, some are running 4 litre Judd v10 sportscar engines or similar. The reason? Most modern F1 engines are prohibitively expensive to run. In fact often the teams won't sell the car with the engine, and if they do - getting the internals made to rebuild the thing is near impossible.
The Judd gives them 900bhp with rebuild intervals of 2000 miles vs say 800bhp and 300mile rebuild intervals for an F1 engine. Also the cost of rebuilding the Judd although massively expensive, is a fraction of what some of the recent F1 engines would cost to rebuild.
In many cases the cars are actually quicker than with their original engine. It will still behave like an F1 car because it is one! Sure, they aren't 100% authentic like (in theory) the cars from the 50s-80s that are racing in historic classes ... but most the cars ran cosworths back then which makes life a lot easier.

On your logic, EVERY F1 car prior to this years regulations is not an F1 car.
