Guy loses camera, finds camera/sort of

The family had no right to give the camera to their kid to use. I have faith in the Internet to help resolve this situation.

If that woman had any sense, she'd have kept her trap shut about the camera to the park ranger. Pocket the camera, don't give your number to anybody.

Giving her number to the park ranger, implies she is willing to give the camera back if the owner makes contact. Therefore she should do so.

I found a £5 note yesterday and i felt guilty about keeping that (- so i gave it to my mum for the car parking fee.)

I dont know how anyone could keep something so valuable and personal

if anything did happen just say that their stuff made your arthritic dog feel better, and you'd be willing to return their "I can't believe it's not butter", but keep their money, jewellery and electronics.
