I doubt there was much of the original left.

Enjoyed it, one of the better programs I have seen recently. Its what the History channel should be doing.

It is pretty much a new spitfire.

There may be a few original parts that could have been restored and used, but given the state of what was recoverd, it would have been minimal.

May have the original airframe registration plate, which is pretty much the minimum that's required to say you have a genuine spitfire it seems.
