Mk1 Spitfires ran the Merlin III which was 1300hp iirc.
Went up to 1700hp in later marks of the Merlin (type 66) that went into Spitfires. For other various uses it topped 2000hp.

Good TV just like his world record series, he's great and the subject matters great. But like his other programs it lacks something, probably production time and money. It needs a bit more polish and thought to be truly great TV. Still better than pretty much anything else on TV.

I loved it and found it very moving, I'm a big softy when it comes to this sort of thing.
