Hello all,
Right a friend of mine has ask if would be happy to help him with his sons homework project on electronics. What he needs from us as the general public/consumer is an average of what we would normally spend on a new computer or computer build.
Weather it be office based or full on gaming machine. He is doing this at GCSE level and his dad has said if he gets a B or above give him some £££.

So if you guys could be kind enough to help me on this for him will be fantastic!
His questions he would like answered:

What is a amount you would spend on a new computer?

Computer use? Office/Gaming/multimedia/combined?

How long would you keep you computer for before replacing? 1-2 years, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, 7 years+

How many hours a week do you spend on your home computer?

Thank you guys all the help will be great!

sorry but this survey is flawed already. The demographics of ocuk are enthusiasts especially people who stay on forums and lurk/post.

Likely that one of the write up questions is explain any possible bias in your results and evaluate how this could be improved in the future. In that case ocuk is perfect!

Yup, I did enough of these at school :p The vast majority of them you have to flaw your own survey to be able to answer another question.

1) 1.5k
2) Combined
3) 5-6 years (or until it starts to feel slow or I know I can get a massive amount of performance out of a new machine)
4) About 30
