[H]ardOCP - Blind Test 2 (FreeSync 2 Vs G-Sync)

For me there is no contest between Gysnc and Free Sync.

With every Gsync certified monitor you know exactly what you get.

And most importantly you get the full sync at 30 - Max refresh rate of the monitor (144hz). That is key!

You do not get the above with Free sync with every free sync monitor.

I don't even think there is a Free sync monitor out there that can do 30 - max refresh rate (144hz)?

The price difference between freesync and vsync is a massive point to consider though too.

I would love a gsync monitor but they are waaaay too expensive, plus going from my 1920x1200 monitor to a 1920x1080 monitor is a no thanks, So that alone leaves me with an even more expensive 1440 monitor.

Just too expensive.

Even this I don't think is true.

When I bought my Gsync monitor I had a price range I was comfortable buying within. It would have been around £500 Free Sync or Gysync monitor. So in reality no price difference.

Of course I would have gone more or less dependant on factors but in general the pricing for me is the same.

Only for enthusiasts spending lots on monitors - most people buy monitors under £300,and you have significantly more FreeSync monitors than GSync ones to the extent its essentially a choice between FreeSync and non-FreeSync monitors. I helped out with a few budget builds before mining struck, which needed a monitor, and they all had FreeSync monitors since they cost around the same as normal monitors, and there were some good budget ones with reasonable gaming characteristics on a budget(so even the FreeSync aspect was just something on top).
