I thought these were meant to be better?

Tested the max temps from the OEM corsair fans on IBT and then the same settings with the gentle typhoon 1850RPM fans. Both in a push set up. Ambient temp maybe ever so slightly different, but the temps seemed to have increased around 6 degrees from 64 to 70 degrees c. Have tried with them running via the h100 controller and via MB connections with same results. The heatsink was not removed in between swapping the fans.

It is nice being able to hear things other than fans again, but at the expense of the temps :(

Think i may have to swap the corsair fans back in to double check, but quite disappointed as everyone seems to suggest these as a replacement.

that is VERY VERY odd... on my H50 they were lowering temps by a decent amount... check my signature for the actual values

Including me,

That is very strange, you did have the direction of airflow right? (sorry but had to ask)

Ok, corsair fans refitted and the temp difference is now 2 degrees in each core with a very quick swap to allow no change in ambient. 2 degrees on a standard run and a max run. A little more believable. Could have been that the computer hadnt been on long and hadnt increase the room temps yet. (no room thermometer). I know the RPMs are completely different, but was expecting a reduction in temps, not an increase. :(

Real world difference according to asrock extreme tuner is 800RPM.

Perfectly normal.

GT's are not magical fans no matter how many people seem to think so.

I chucked a bunch out myself after finding they sounded worse (higher pitched noise) and were no different at cooling at the same RPM than my Magma fans.

Thanks for confirming that. Glad im not the only one. Luckily only a few £ and i needed a new 120mm case fan anyway.

Cant complain at temps really with standard fans. Getting 70 degrees tops on IBT on max with a 2500k OC'd to 4.7. :) Think i may even get away with 4.8 without increasing core voltage.

Cheers guys.

I love my Gentle Typhoons, went from Yate Loons as well as other fans I just find the tone of them a lot less audible than other fans and that's why I love them. :) though, it is a fairly subjective matter of course.

I found the same when I changed the stock H100 fans to my GT's (albiet 1450RPM ones) - Got really poor temps. BUT - The advantage they had was they were nowhere near as noisey as the stock fans!.

I'm still in shock over how thin the radiator is on this H100 - I've got a couple of Akasa Apache's due soon so going to try them instead.

Research reveals for best performance - people have recommended using the stock fans for pushing air through the rad whilst two apache's pull air through (push/pull combo).
