H100 fans running at full speed ?

how the heck do we know what speed the fans are running at though, thats all i want to know, or is corsair so stupid that they didnt think people would want to know this info ?

or can we just take it for granted that the fan speed will be full speed depending on if you have it on setting 1,2 or 3 ??? I'm still not convinced, I dont have a problem at all with the cooler, its fine, but just that one annoying fact that I cant see my fan speed :(, and to be honest, I dont even want to know what my pump speed is, lol, thats rather useless unless you had a problem etc.

There are two ways to know fan speed. You can buy the Corsair Link. You can use your ears ! lol

I have not bought the Link, but using the info from their Profile Table which I posted earlier, I know what my min RPM is on my (Performance) profile, and I know what my max RPM is. The only speed I don't know is the middle speed. Also, I know my fans ramp up and down through these different speeds because I hear them doing it.

Why do you need to know fan speeds on a pump controlled H100?

If its too noisy... Fit apaches or GTs and a separate controller. ;p

I just let mine do its thing... 6970 gives of far more noise. ;)

Because we want to and because we can.

Unless we have an H series CLC.

Just would like to know the fan speeds, thats all mate :)

And they aint noisy to my ears anyways and they are set at maximum setting, but I would still like to be able to see with my own eyes if they are actually at full speed, know what I mean ?

Did someone mention something that you can buy from corsair that you can fit so that you can see the speed of the fans ???

If so, what is it and how to fit etc, a little link would be handy, thanks :)

found a link to what I think the member was talking about, is this it >> http://www.corsair.com/us/corsair-link/corsair-link-kits.html

How do they fit and work etc, anyone know ?

woops, sorry if I have posted a link I shouldnt have, hope not, if so please accept my apologise and just remove eh ? thanks.

Think I will just save my time and money and leave the fans at full speed, no big deal as I've always said, not that noisy at all to me, put it this way, Ive had fans over the years 100 times worse, these are by no means what I would even put into the "noisy" bracket and thats on the highest setting, but each person to thier own thing, its whatever your happy with, but yea, I think I will give that thing a miss that will cost extra money and hassle just to read the fan speed, they should (I turst) be running at full speed, soon know if my temps go up, put it that way, lol.

Aren't the stock fans PWM? If you couldn't you use Akasa or Gelid PWM splitter and CPU_fan head... or another that uses CPU temp to regulate fan... speed and set them up with bios/mobo softare?

They don't support PWM functionality unfortunately.

index.php

3 pin fan header.

If they don't support PWM ~ they accept my viper (4pin PWM) plugs and the stock are 3pin your right Helios1234. I know for sure peeps are using vipers on H80 same as H100 [apart from 4 sockets and 120 x 2 rad]. This 'simple' unit is deceptive in getting it right for the user !!
If you can get up close there are 4 pins on each fan socket bay on the heatsink/pump unit

On page one I voiced my intrigue doyll I understand what you mean. It looks like Helios1234 has the explanation. Without dealing with this unit you can put 3pin on 4pin - located properly - on a motherboard. Bios or speedfan control, don't know how to use temp control this way slaved to speed but...

Can voltage control influence a PWM fan I realy don't know (Pulse width modulation - is it effected by volt drop. I dont mean 12-7-5v changes associated with speed, thresholds etc., de da da)
