Hi there, First let me say im a complete watercooling noob having always used air cooling so go easy on me please :o :)

I brought a 700D some time back with the intention of going full WC but the H100 looks tempting (lazy me lol)

How would OcUK V8 Watercooling Kit 240 compare to the H100 with say, 2500k at 4.8-5ghz? (I would probably buy custom fans for H100 if I went that route.

My second question is, Since the 700D has room at the top to mount a 360x120mm rad should I just go all out with OcUK V12 Watercooling Kit 360?

I dont really have a budget but is the ocuk v12 kit that much better than a H100? How much better is the V12 kit over the V8?

Last question, How hard is it to assemble? Are leaks common? :eek:

PS, I was looking at a WCplate for my gtx580, Can I just loop this strait into the OCUK V8/V12 kit or is it more complicated than that? (Though ill probably wait till HD7000 is released first for that)

I have an H70 in the same case as yours along with x2 460's and the heat is awful in mine. I would assume the H100 is just as easy to fit as the H70 was, which was seriously easy, fully sealed unit no leaks. As for the other items (full water cooling) I'm in the same boat as you - novice. As for leakage on those items, I guess it's just put all together, place some kitchen roll down and hope for the best first go..

However on my limited knowledge the kits would be significantly better than the H100 (and 70), if you want to add the GPU to your loop you'd be better with the V12, you would need to add a GPU block and a couple of connectors to the V12 kit. If you dont plan to add the GPU then the V8 would more than suffice
Your last question, hopefully not very (difficult), bout to do mine (once I get my case back), and hopefully leaks uncommon if you take your time and do it all right, this is advice I've been given
 
The V12 is a very good kit and would perform better than the h100. The major advantage it has though is the ability to expand the loop later (for instance to accommodate your graphics card/s) if you want to. Also if you ever upgrade your motherboard to an unsupported socket in the future, with the full wc loop you can just buy a new CPU block, with the h100 you would have to buy a completely new cooler. As hardware gets more powerful you can also add a second radiator to a custom loop... basically the list of expandability options goes on.

The V12 would have much more longevity, as would the v8 for that matter.

Edit: just noticed you are worried about leaks. If you use compression fittings and take your time to do it properly then the chances of it leaking are very low. Leaks are not impossible on any watercooling system however and even the corsair's have been known to leak once in a while. As long as you use a non-conductive fluid (such as distilled / de-ionised water with a silver coil in the loop) you won't be in much danger if you spring a leak anyway

I think they will perform similarly, granted the EX will peform better but imo, I don't think it would be by a significantly large amount to warrant the cost difference.

If it's for a CPU only and nothing else, then I agree with you here.

If the OP ever intends to add anything else to the loop, then the kit will be much much better as it's really futureproof :D
 
Thanks for the info fellas.

If I go with the V12 kit then I will almost certainly look at adding a GPU (or 2) to it on 7000/600 release.

Think im going to mull it over untill 28nm gpu's come along.
