Shortly after turning on my Ryzen PC and just being in Outlook - bang!
One of the tubes of my H100i v2 slapped against the side of my case having sprung out of the heat sink, spreading the liquid around the case.
I have put the Wraith cooler in (which did work before), but nothing happens when I try to start the PC. The motherboard lights come on but no fans move, nothing happens. There was a smell after the disaster and it was still there after the Wrath was fitted.
Crosshair VI.

What is more likely to have died? The CPU or the board?

To add insult to the injury it is today I got my 1080ti. It's my 1080 still in the system - could that prevent start up?

I bought the H100i in December 2016. So about 4 months of use.

BUT- all is fundamentally better now. I think something must have dried out (I thought I had left it long enough already), or perhaps it just wanted a rest, but the PC is back up and running again.

good to hear , still call them up for a replacement and to log the issue! over time an issue could pop up because of the leak .

lucky your PSU didnt get soaked

First time I've heard of the pipes on a h100 snapping off, did you have a tight bend on them to the radiator?

Definitely get in touch with Corsair.

I can't beileive it didnt break anything!

You were ever so lucky.

Anything that leaks needs leaving an absolute minimum of 48 hours after removing all surface water was what was explained to me once about regarding radio equipment...

I thought I'd mopped up all the water, but I guess some may have got inside parts.
The PSU is covered in a shroud, and the shroud did get somewhat wet, but I think there is no way past the shroud.
Not a lot of water seemed to have got onto the motherboard, but there was a patch which spread across some tracks and points.

This was before. No eccentric bendage.
