H100i Link Problems

I've just finished all my upgrades, new case, cooler, and SSD. I've installed the Corsair link software and after some fiddling I've gotten the H100i to show up in it, the LED controller and pump rpm are showing up, but I have no control over the fans which are the moment are kinda super loud. I've tried googling but no one seems to have a problem with only the fans..

Any ideas?

What OS are you using and are you using the fans which came with the unit?

Meant to say that in the OP, it's av fresh install of 8.1 Pro and yea, the stock h100i fans.

How have you connected the fans, are they connected to the little Y lead that goes into the pump?

When I had my H100i, I had a load of problems getting it to run on Windows 8.1

Ok.

In order to get full control of the H100i, you'll need to make a registry edit.

I would also recommend using a custom fan curve instead of a profile as you can get the fans to idle at 450-500rpm and under load about 900-1100rpm - the profiles will idle/load higher. This is how mine is running, so should work for you also.

Good luck with corsair link, they make great hardware but the software sucks, their firmware update for link borked my LED on the H100i.

Oh no - did you ever get it sorted?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Software has been fine this side, but it does generally between users seem unstable.

Fans are connected to one of the Y connectors that came in the box, then into the top of the pump, I've tried both slots on the pump with cold reboots in between.

I'm robooting from the reg edit now, only one of the values was a 1 for me.

You may need to change the profile then and check the temps using Real Temp to make sure nothing else is causing them to run high.

This is how I've set mine up: H100i profile is a custom fan curve:
25deg - 0rpm
28deg - 800rpm
30deg - 800rpm
45deg - 1200rpm
50deg - 2100rpm

but it never gets that high as it uses the coolant temps to adjust the fan speeds, not the CPU temp.

i thought well the block and fans still work fine, but to get the LED fixed i had to RMA it, i didn't bother in the end, do without a pc for many weeks for that to be maybe fixed i thought nah.

So far so good it seems, fans are now showing up after changing that single number in the registry. Latest firmware didn't break anything and its running quietly now.

Now I figure as long as I don't touch it nothing can go wrong, although I may redo the paste as I don't thing it went on particularly well, and I'm getting around 85°c at stock speeds on prime 95..

I wouldn't worry about prime, just test it as you normally use the PC and adjust the curve accordingly. Although, the temps for stock speeds is quite high (I know its prime) - spend a few hours gaming and use CPU-Z to monitor the temps and see what happens.

I think my chip has always been a very hot running one, never used the stock cooler, but with a dual 120mm tower cooler it used to idle at above 40 outside the case.

Cheers for the help, just sorting out my steam library now then I'll give it a workout.

My Link is temperamental at best - sometimes showing the temps for all desired items, other times it doesn't.

It also causes an alert to sound every time I open it, and I cannot find anything in Windows to turn that sound off for the Link software.
