Ordered a Corsair H100i to go with my Ranger and 4790K combo. Wanted to know if it comes with pre applied thermal paste. Seen Youtube vid where someone applies Arctic silver 5 thermal compound before attaching to CPU. Should i go down that route?

Mine came with a thermal pad pre-applied to the "water block", seemed to work well enough

The cooler comes pre-applied if I remember correctly, I would use the pre applied paste.

I am pretty sure it will come with pre applied thermal paste.
Scrape it off and use some good stuff !!

For a 1-2C difference!

Use the stuff that comes applied at first. Then if you remount it get some more.

@25C Room temp >4790K >> 30-35 C on idle whit the pre applied paste from corsair

I used the pre-applied stuff when I got mine. Temps are fine.

I'm fairly sure the preapplied TIM is really good stuff anyway.
