I've recently purchased a i7 Ivybridge, and a gigabyte z77x-ud3h mobo.

I checked and everywhere said the Corsair h50 would fit fine.

Well it doesn't. the holes are close for the backplate, but a squeeze,
anyway I manages to take my time and get it fitted, there is no movement
on the head of the H50, however temps running prime95 were 90c.
ofc i shut it down. etc. I've hasd to go to work tonight, so i'm looking for any idea's. anyone had this problem? the pump is going round checked that.

Thanks for any advice.

ps also got bsod's one of me memory slabs I bought has to go back.
but thats another story.

I got the back plate and aligned it with the hols on the motherboard, not any combination fits perfect. I'm of the inclination that the head isn't in propper contact with the surface of the cpu.

Can't understand what your doing wrong.
As above link show backplate is sightly off centre, & you don't tighten front retaining ring completely until pump head is fitted.

Look at this link:

It's the same process for the 1155 board, just different holes, same insert, just different position.

EDIT: Just had a thought, is your H50 an old one, if so wasn't the mounting plate slightly different with slots/holes?
Can't remember though, where is STULID,sure he mentioned about this, but Corsair did bring out a Revision 2 mounting kit for the H50.

yeah mines an older one, i've redone the plate on the back, thanks for the info, the back plate actually fits, but looks crooked. I wouldn't of thought of that if I hadn't seen the guide. still not convinced with the temps, when running prime its about 81 c.
so i'm going to give it a little more tension in case its not snug enough. and making enough contact. I had thins on my old rig, and it cooled perfect.

You have plug in the 3pin power cable from the pump to the CPU header, remembering to disable any fan control options in the BIOS and the fans on the radiator to an auxiliary 3pin motherboard header.

Temps are high, mine was around 39c to 42c , but should be lower, if I remember correctly, tried replacing the thermal paste.

Have you your fans in push & pull blowing the fresh air in as recommended by Corsair?

Have a look at this link, wealth of info on H50: http://www.overclock.net/t/612436/official-corsair-h50-h70-club
