Wondering if you guys can help me?

Been thinking about fitting a H50 & wonder how much of an improvement it will be.

I am running an Intel I7920 at present on stock speeds on a Asus P6TD Deluxe, a Coollermaster V8, a Gtx295 at stock all in a Corsair 800D.

I swapped out the stock 140 fans for a couple of Xigmatek 140,s which really did help my temps in the case.

All the cores on the I7 idle at around 36 degrees at present but I would really like to overclock the chip, my only concern is getting the heat out from the GTX295 which at present idles at around 54 degrees & gets up to around 68 degrees when gaming.

By the way I have 3 120 1600 rpm fans pulling air out from the top of the case, I would fit a couple of 120 fans in a push pull arrangement on the rad for the H50.

Your comments/thoughts would be appreciated :)

Cheers

I imagine you will see a pretty decent improvement jumping to the H50 from that Coolermaster if you are pushing into higher overclocks.

Give this load of benchmarks a look, there is a lot but the H50 is in there somewhere alongside a load of other coolers for comparisons sake. You would have to browse through different comparisons to find it though.

Have you tried OC/ing and seeing what the temps are on load? The V8 should be up to it for a decent overclock.

I think if you want water cooling though, you're much better off with a bespoke setup (if your budget permits).

I'd personally look at top-end air cooling within the budget. Sounds like you already have some fans, so just a heatsink would be needed. The TRUE is probably your best bet, which is actually cheaper than your current cooler. I'd be surprised if temps improve a LOT with an H50, especially load temps, which doesn't warrant its price at the moment, air is much better value and safer in the long run.

Fantastic cooler had my H50 today with new case the difference is staggering, before i was hitting only 3.2 on a q6600 and getting 70c, now at the same speeds i was barely touch 45c under prime95.
