The stock fans on the H80 are quite loud and was reading up that a lot of people have replaced them with Scythe Gentle Typhoon's and have noticed a nice decrease in temp and quite a large decrease in noise levels but as usual i need the OCUK's communitys input :D

The Scythe Gentle Typhoons have a lower RPM than the supplied corsair fans and do not offer as much cooling power although they should be a bit quieter.

Put a set of Noctua NF-F12's on a H80 this morning..... i5 2500K @4.5Ghz was 28-30 celcius at idle and 50-51 celcius at full load prime runs.

This was with the high setting on the pump. With the low-quiet setting on the pump the full load temps rose to around 55 degrees max.

Unfortunately, the pump started making the renowned "noise" and so im sending it back. Fans are good though

Akasa Vipers are on my list of fans to test, they seem to be well liked.

I'd personally go for either the Noctua NF-F12 or the Silverstone AP121 but that's only because I'd happily trade performance for a nice quiet rig :)

How are you guys setting your fans up? I'm getting the H100 soon and I want to know the best config, cheers

Hi I use the apache black fans and they are very quiet, the gt's and vipers are very good too, I would have gone for the vipers but for their yellow color, The gt's are only three pin hence why I chose the apaches, but any of these three will be great, personal choice I guess

I chucked 2x Silenx Red Wing fans on my H60, it only came with one fan but I never used it. Current idle temp of 30 degrees C on my I5 2500K

Hi folks,

Just jumping into this thread to see if most of you are still recommending Akasa Apache FN058s for the Corsair H80?

Or: 2 x Scythe GT 1850 or 1450?

I, too, am suffering from very loud H80 stock fans and want to try to get the noise levels down. Running a 3930k at 4.4ghz here but max temps with stock fans and pump on Medium setting are only around 57C, so I figure that could climb happily even another 10C if necessary, to get the noise down.

Any advice?

Cheers!

What are peoples opinions on the Noctua NF-P12 for H80s, considering their designed for high static pressure and the H80 rad is thick and has many fins.
