H80 temp fluctuation, normal?

just got an H80, the corsair thing, and the cpu temp as being reported in hwmonitor seems odd. it jumps op to about 26 then quickly counts down to about 16 then jumps back up to 26. errr is this normal? i can also see that twmonitor thinks at some point its max temp was 161 and its min was 0 but i just take those to be a random error. the current though keeps doing that count down thing.

so is this normal?

Most likely HWM is reporting some of the temps wrong as it may not fully recognise your motherboard?

For a quick confidence check, look in the BIOS at the PC health, it should report the normal CPU temp.

well thats possible but it did not behave like this this morning. i mean it did the occasional random super high, super low but not this constant cyclical flux.
