The SA is already as good as the noctua and quieter but they are very rare. The SA SBE can be had for very cheap if you research. Otherwise the Phanteks and K2 are other great options. Also, ignore that oc3d review, it's biased and the conclusion doesn't even match up to the results.

Define "trounce" and supply proof please.

so SB-e 71.7c to Phanteks 72.5c at full speed is "trounced" That's a photo finish.
At 800rpm Phanteks is 3.1c cooler the SB-E
Test 3 of the same coolers and you will get as much difference.

Check out FrostyTech review of 4 Phanteks coolers, one of each color.

They tested red = 14.0c, blue = 14.4c, orange = 14.5c & white = 14.8c

So red @ .8c cooler trounced white. :D

Fair enough. My bad
Here's a review of SB-E Extreme with TY-143 fans (600-2500rpm) showing it only 3.7c better then D14 but dBA was 19.9 higher @ 72.6

So almost twice the air of normal SB-E is still only 3.7c cooler the stock D14

Doesn't show D14, only H100 SB-E & SB-E Extreme
H100 41c delta 2500rpm 55dBA
SA SB-E 42c delta 1000rpm 38dBA TY-141 & TY-150
SB-E Extreme 34c delta 2500rpm 56dBA 2x TY-143

Don't understand the 1000rpm unless it's the TY-150 fan max rpm... and even then would expect TY-141 to be running max too.

Using this data the D14 would be between the SB-E and SB-E Extreme.

apparently it is
TY-150 Length 170mm x Width 26.5mm x Height 150mm
• TY-150 Fan Speed: 500~1100 RPM (PWM)
• TY-150 noise level: 17~21dBA
• TY-141 Length 170mm x Width 26.5mm x Height 150mm
• TY-141 Fan Speed: 900~1300 RPM (PWM)
• TY-141 Fan noise level: 21~25dBA

although i dont like comparing different products across review sites cuz they all have different rigs and methods of comparing stuff, so the results may not correlate exactly
