Hi i've been using the Corsair H80i gt for my i5 6500 which runs very quiet but when i start gaming the heat that's pushed out is very hot i'm not sure how to check the temperature during gaming and is there anything i can do to reduce the temperature?

What do you think of me taking it off and putting some sort of thermal grease as i here the pads that come with the cooler arent that good and if so what is the best grease to use?

The pre-applied TIM on your cooler is one the best you can find in the market. I'd suggest that you leave it as is.

Plus, with those temp, I'm not seeing any good reason why you'd change the thermal past. Those temps are good.

I have a H80i GT on my 5820K (6 cores \ 12 Threads) which is clocked @ 4.2, and the temps never go above 60 degree's in game.

Only using 1 Fan, in pull configuration.
