H81I-Plus - monitor issues

Hi,

I have a PC with a H81I-Plus, one monitor plugged in via VGA (17") and another via HDMI -> DVI cable 24" Asus. The 17" VGA always works, however the Asus is on and off and usually only displays up to the Windows starting logo, then is dead after that. Input change etc yields nothing, and windows does not detect them in graphics options

Have tried full Windows reinstall, driver reinstall to no avail. It's just using integrated graphics. Used to work fine, recently has just stopped working.
Have tried on a different PC and the monitor works fine.

Any ideas?

Have you had a higher res monitor plugged in using DVI before?

\Did the other computer work using the same cable and adapter?

Same cable yep

Highest res ever plugged into there is 1080p which is the one which isn't working

What about the adapter?

Its actually a dvi to HDMI cable, no adapter

Seems to be a windows software problem as it works up until the log in screen appears

Just uninstalled the drivers, restarted, it automatically reinstalled the drivers and then I restarted again. Worked for two boots, then third boot it went back to normal
