My WoW account got hacked again. This happened a few weeks ago and I got my account back now it has gone and happened again and I have no idea how lol.

Its not even funny. I am aware of possible keyloggers so I no longer type my password I only copy and paste it, I havent downloaded anything in ages so how the heck can it keep happening?

Im really miffed. As before Im sure blizz will sort me out getting my gear back but its really ******* me off as I cannot work out how this is happening. Any ideas?

No swearing disguised or not. If you have to swear then please fully star the swear word out.

Just got an authenticator now and I am getting a tech guy I know to look at my PC next week. Really ****** off about this as I must have something on my computer. Keep full scanning my PC (using Kaspersky) but nothing comes up.

lol @ me and my foolishness but grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

@ Colin.

Thanks again bud you are a gent as always. Submitted a web form and all that to get things sorted. Going to go postal if this happens again, fly to Korea and murder all the buggers.... not that im being stereotypical or anything :P

Ofc he can get it back!

Don't suppose you've ever been in contact with gold sellers, or clicked on any random "Blizzard" emails? I did once, only to find out never to do this again! I've been hacked 4 times in WoW - bought an authenticator and the problem stopped.

Buy one for your account before the hackers do!

Last time the hacking buggers did :p

Never bought gold and clicked on a random e-mail once but never followed the linkie. There must be something on my PC. Im rather ****** off but as always Colin to the rescue. Its a good job I have him :p

edit:

I would definitely do a complete wipe of your pc and setup it up again , especially as this has now happened more than once. Basically the pc equivalent of, nuke it from orbit... its the only way to be sure.

Just wipe and re-install? Including windows?

Yup, that's what I would do. If I was under the suspicion that I had something on my pc which was nicking my passwords I would totally wipe my pc. It's only one small step from getting a game password swiped to getting my bank account password swiped when I do my banking. Better I'm safe than sorry :)

Ah now im paranoid, im typing this as the PC is being launched out of the window :p

In the OP you say you copy/paste your password? Do you mean you keep your password stored on your computer all the time?

Yeah in a document. Is that a no no as well?

Bloody keylogger scumbags. Going to follow that 6 step guide thing should be useful. Changed the pass on my e-mail as well

Never a good idea to keep your passwords on file on a computer, its the digital equivalent to having your bank card pin number written on a post-it note stuck to your card :)

I have a lot to learn :o

Deleted them and got rid of the post it off my bank card :p
