Hackers on Xbox live ?

I was playing RR 6 on xbox live last night after beating the other players by a healthy 20 sec margin i noticed that i was demoted to second place?? and the guy who came second was FIRST !!!

I gave him a bad review and reported him for cheating :mad:

Just wondering if anyone else has come across cheaters on live?

More like laggers probably, Had it on NFSMW.

I have never experienced any lag on this game it was not lag i could tell this because we were all the same cars and i went flat out around the track without making any mistakes i started first and finished first

Like i said i beat them by at least 20 sec no way could anyone have got around that course in the same car as me 20 sec quicker then i did

Either it was a cheater or the server Oi! No swearing! up i think the first option

How can they cheat though? It's a completely unhacked console.

Even if they were hacked, as far as I'm aware, there isnt even cheats/hackers on PS2/Xbox games are there?

It wasn't that you hand-brake turned over the finish line was it? I'm sure I've noticed on some races that once you cross the line, the positions still change on screen, ie hand-brake over the line, finish in 2nd, slam into barrier, guy in 3rd crosses line and passes your flailing car, my screen said 3rd once he went past on autopilot.

Anyone else seen this?

Im pretty sure it would have been lag. I had a couple of races last night and the lag was awful. After making a mistake on the first corner i went round the rest of the race in 6th place only to find when the race was over that i was in 3rd. I can only assume that i passed people on track and didnt see them purely because of the lag. It would be somewhat unjust for my rep to be effected by someone claiming i was cheating.

I've had that on several races worst case was when I finished 1st and got demoted to third

but I thought it was because the results were based on time and not finishing position.

ie. car a starts in first and finishes first but car b starts last and finishes second BUT his time to complete the three laps was less than the guy who finished first therefore he gets put up the rankings.

If i'm right and this is the case it would be quite noticable on close races as the spacing of the grid is quite big in RR.

That may very well be the case, will maybe have to have a read of the manual and see if it mentions anything about placings in online races.
