So, i'm driving to work this morning and as i come off the motorway and ascend up the slip road towards the roundabout, the lady in front decides to brake on a amber traffic light, i try to brake in time, but it's too late. I go into the back of her

I guess the insurance company will see it as my fault, even though she said it was bright and hard to make out what the traffic signal was but she still panicked and broke on a ****'n amber

You have my sympathy at these times you just want to be able to rewind and do things differently. It sucks.

Key thing is that it is just metal (and money) and no-one was hurt. Learn from it and work out how you could have driven differently and avoided the accident.

Yes.

I know you should always be preparing for the worst, even like in this situation, someone drastically changes their decision.

I wasn't going too quick, i had literally just come off the motorway and was slowing down.

I've never rear-ended someone because I've been driving too close but if I had, I certainly wouldn't be broadcasting it for people to rightfully ridicule me.

You've missed what i said happend.

In retrospect, there are more important things in life, i put it up here as i wanted people's opinions/experiences on similar situations, not be 'ridiculed'.

Obviously takes a big man to ridicules someone sat behind a computer. :)

You could argue it both ways. If she was going over the line and it turned amber as if she was going but then braked suddenly then you could argue that she should have committed to her decision to go rather than slamming on the brakes.

Then again you should have held back and slowed down ready to stop at the lights.

I hate people who proceed to rush through ambers just to save a 30 seconds. :o

Yes and Yes.
