Had my Z for a week now, but only just got around to pictures. Too busy driving/buying alloys! :D

For a near-6-year-old car, the paintwork is immaculate. There are zero marks on the entire front bumper, as this was replaced by the last owner, and there only one or two incredibly small ones anywhere else on the skirts, etc. Dead pleased with it. Pictures are a bit crap, but I get a new camera this week (I had to borrow a friend's for these), and once I've learned how to use it I might try some more artsy ones!

I've really enjoyed the noise and acceleration over the last week or so. Two of my previous cars (A3 2L TDI S-line, Mazda RX-8) both had a reasonable amount of poke, but neither felt as planted or smooth, despite the RX-8 sometimes feeling like it was on rails in corners! Just need to get the wheels and runflats replaced now to improve it.

Plans include a set of Z4M wheels, one of which needs a bit of a refurb, which should be happening soon. Then to fit Eagle F1s all round and sell my current 108s - which are in need of a refurb due to corrosion in the rim splits - and the two Bridgestones which are worth selling (one front, one rear). Stubby aerial needed for the back, plus I'll probably get some rubber mats done as carpet ones get on my nerves.

Very pleased with the balance of economy and power, too. It's quicker than the RX-8 when it needs to be, but if I sit at 70 on the motorway it'll do 420 miles to a full tank, which for a 3 litre sports car is impressive, I think.

A very happy first week from a new owner :D

I'm suprised it feels more planted than the RX8, which is supposedly one of the best handling cars on the market! Still, nice motor!

With regard to the economy, the 400-420 mile tank I did was sat on the motorway constantly to near London and back, pretty much. At 400 it works out at about 34mpg. A figure of 320-360 is more realistic for normal mixed driving it seems though, which is 29-31 mpg ish. The lowest I've seen it go (with lots of very fast driving and sports mode use to the redline) is about 250 to a tank, which is 20mpg ish.

Well it says 'SMG' on my gearstick, but I've just dig out the original options list and it's listed as Sequential Sport Gearbox. I don't really care, to be honest: it changes gear very quickly in sport mode, and I get to pretend I'm driving a race car :D. I originally did look at manuals only, but I changed my mind when I had a go in it, and this car has everything going for it - spotless condition, low miles for age, near-full options list. Too good to ignore, IMO. Though I'm fully aware Motors types are sticklers for details ;)

Have you already got a set of z4m wheels? If so how much did you pay?
I have. I paid £280 second hand for 4, but one has got a big dint in it:

Got a bloke who says he's not sure it's repairable (describing me as "optimistic"), but says if it will repair it'll be £60.

Anyone got any links to good wheel refurb places in the Yorkshire/Lincolnshire area in case this guy can't do it?
