Hi,

While I have been deciding on a new build I have discoverd the HAF-X. Case (nice) now I chose this as I thought it had plenty of airflow, looked nice, good airflow ect AND plenty of drive bays, now I see the bottom 2 are hot swappable drive bays.. I was planning to have 2 DVD drives, a nzxt fan controller (2 bays) and a fatality soundcard panel , 1 panel too many, I was planning to have 2 hds a samsung and an ssd. I just wonder if I can use one of the hot swappable bays as a normal bay and use one hot swappable for an hd? The 2.5" SSd could go below inside the case, sorry fir the novel any info would be appreciated :D thanks

I don't think you can remove one of the hot swap, IIRC it is two or none.

Although if you're happy dremmeling then it should be easy to mod.

i have a HAF-X. you can remove the hotswappable hdd attachment completely, its basically a thin bit of metal that has 2 sata connectors either side and also a 4pin power connecter. it is simply screwed in and you can place it where you want. however it DOES take up 2 drive bays at the back. But that will be fine because your fan controller does not go all the way back. So you will have to put a hot swappable bay and your fan controller together.
in short YES you can.
