Haggling with BMW Car Dealership

If it's a new car audi have dropped many the options available on their cars. With the facelift A4, for example, matrix headlamps will only be available on a very expensive Vorspung version. They've already done this to their larger models.

:D Any particular reason?
Tbh I'm not looking to change anytime soon...maybe in the next 2-3 years...

I can't speak for all dealerships, but my local Audi couldn't be more unhelpful if they tried. :D Went in there looking at a Q5 and they didn't seem interested in my business whatsoever. They must be smashing their sales targets I guess.

most dealerships get there orders through leasing companies been like that for a number of years now.

Annoyingly I'm also in the process of buying a house and have just received my mortgage offer, so would like to get a car settled to allow my credit report to settle before completion in December/January time.
You might want to triple check that taking out a massive amount of finance won't affect your mortgage offer. I've had people's offers change for taking out finance on new sofas before they complete let alone cars. Would cause you a bigger problem if you found out a week before completion.

To be fair this is the way the car industry is going, Seat have done it and I think Volvo are now doing it. Makes it easier getting a car through WLTP plus is meant to be easier for the consumer.

Soo... a slight update.

Walked into the local Mercedes dealership and after bit of back and forth, agreed to a 2018 CLS 350d 4Matic with Premium Plus pack. Haven't yet been able to find a gadget that it doesn't have :D

Only issue is that current insurance company won't allow me to insure it online, asking me to ring them, expecting this to be a costly process. Definitely should have researched in advance...

Did you find Mercedes much more obliging than BMW in getting to the right deal, as that has always been my experience? Much better coffee too...

Lovely car, great choice of options and engine.

Much more accommodating... not sure whether it's because my old man works there in the workshop, it's the end of the quarter, or because I simply wouldn't stop drinking the free coffee until they got the price down.

Have done about 200 miles this weekend and must say I am very impressed. Much better than some of the Mercedes hire cars I have been given in recent years.
