haha ledgend

I'm sure he paid his fair share of taxes that contributed toward the NHS when he was working. So why should he have to wait for something that he paid for?
Why should any of us have to wait for something we pay for?

Good on him. He clearly loves life, and wishes to live it as long as he can.

As others have pointed out. 9 months for a life changing operation? Just puts the NHS deeper in the firing line.

Remember, the NHS is a free high quality health service.

Unless you actually want to be treated, in which case you wait ages, see someone for 5 minutes who doesn't really care, and have to pay £20 for three boxes of pills that will last a fortnight.

Although he technically stole the medical services, I can't help thinking fair play to the old bugger.

What this story does reveal is the chronic state of this country's health service, whne a man is forced to commit a crime in order to stay alive. :(

Agreed, i dont blame him for what he did. Fair enough wasnt the best way to go about it but he did it and at least hes paying back what he owes...fair play to him and good on him.
The NHS is a complete joke, took them nearly 3 yrs before i had my hernia operation and that was after 3 cancellations on their part:rolleyes:. Im now private and enjoy a much better service than i ever did on the NHS.

Be interested to know whether this guy was a smoker.

Chances are he was, being of the older generation. So he's not really in a position to be making any demands.

I'm interested in who covers his bill when it turns out he doesn't live to see 99.

they'll sell his assets (house, car, furniture etc. etc) to recover the costs once he's expired. if that doesnt cover it i think debts can be passed onto his kids but not 100% sure. more than likely it'll be written off though

This is fraud. The guy obtained goods/services by deception and should be prosecuted.

If this was a seventeen yr old with a hoodie you'd all be baying for blood. The double standards shown here are sometimes beyond belief.

Needs must :) I wouldn't begrudge even a 17 year old hoodie doing the same thing if his choice was commit fraud or die.

LOL! mad world aint it! Well done that man!! id do the same in a similar position. Utter madness he has been paying into the NHS for a decent health service his entire life but when the NHS cannae deliver hes quite right to go private and just pay it monthly.

Absolute LEGEND :D

Indeed you wouldn't. I've not seen double standards in your posts over the years so the 'hoodie' statement does not apply to you; however, fo many others it certainly does apply!

However, I still stand by the statement that this bloke has committed a serious crime and I find it distasteful that he is being lauded as a 'legend' by so many.
