I have a bald patch on top of my head, if I use hair dye will the skin of the bald patch be dyed with it?

I used to dye my hair on and off 8-10 years ago before I started going bald and want to dye my hair again. I used to use proper home hair dyeing kits, not the products marketed at men like Just for Men.

Yeah it will dye the skin partly but it can be washed off relatively easy in the shower depending on the dye.

Some dyes will need a good scrub to get off your skin.

I dyed my hair once, I think you could get a light colouring but it will wash of very soon I think the dye works on the hair root or something hence keeping the colour. Well I don't know the science but it's different for hair strands than skin.

Use just for men comb through pre mixed. This does not dye the skin when washed out and blends well. Do not use the 2 part or ladies dye.

For any stuborn over dye then Micellar Water will clear it up.

Vaseline on the bald patch before dying hair. The wife says that’s what she uses around her hairline to stop dying her skin where her hairline is.

Best thing to do is put some vaseline on the bald patch, the dye wont stick on then. When i dye my hair i tend to put a lot of vaseline around my forehead, ears and back of head.

Just shave it off, its so much less hassle having no hair, you just have more face to wash.

If you're already going bald, no amount of hair dye is going to hide the fact that you would therefore also being going grey.

Just accept it and move on.

My hair is dark in general but gets a bit grey at the temples ,rather than a dye i cant recommend enough the hair powder ,a tenners worth lasts me a year, great on thinning bits but wont cover a full on chrome dome
anyone wanting to give it a bash (literally just use little brush provided and brush it on) search hair genetics on ebay
