***Half-Life 2: Update***

Seems an awful lot of work for what is an extremely small difference to my eyes and the Cinematic mod looks much better imho.
 
I'll still be interested to listen to the commentary and see what differences there are over the original. Worth a check. Ta. :)

Certainly looks to have more vibrant colours.

Last time I tried the Cinematic Mod it added a load of unnecessary stuff and changed the feel of the game entirely. If I remember rightly it completely changed the character skins, they didn't look anything like the originals.

I think you can select to keep the original looking character models if you wish. I happen to feel the same way, at least with regard to some of the design changes. Other than that, I quite enjoyed it, though it's not something that I like to play often; I tend to wait for the next CM release before even considering touching it.
 
I think I'm due another playthrough of this sometime soon. So I guess I'll check either this out or the cinematic mod that everyones going on about :D
