Half-Life 25th Anniversary Documentary

I always remember Half-Life just being so different to the other FPS of the time which to an extent felt a little like graphically updated versions of Doom in that it was pretty much just shooting.
Half-Life basically gave us the FPS genre we have now which (in story mode anyway) is almost more of an FPS-adventure type game.

I haven't watched the docu but will get some time this weekend hopefully!

It's a great documentary and quite honest and poignant at times - not what I expected.

Yes, they were making history, but the guy whose daughter's picture appears in Gordon's locker sounds like he went through hell - also, the only woman on the team unsurprisingly had some issues with her young male colleagues.

Also, I was surprised (maybe I shouldn't have been) about how unsentimental Gabe sounds about Half-Life - by his own words he's more interested in what comes next rather than dwelling on what they've done - perhaps that's one of the reasons that Half-Life 3 has never materialised - he's simply not as attached to it as the fans are.

Can't link due to language but there are a couple of different videos on YouTube of scenarios of re-entering the Anomalous Materials Lab after the Black Mesa incident, pretty cool idea and an absolute missed opportunity by Valve.

I never played either HL or HL2, and am now enjoying the hell out of HL2 VR, the mixture of puzzles and fighting is excellent, using the crane to lift the car up took a while to figure out !
