Anyone going to give this a spin? Looks pretty good (same guy that did path tracing mod for Quake RTX etc)....

I've modded Black Mesa using the RTGI reshade shaders but it doesn't make a huge difference really, especially compared to this. Wish he'd do the mod for Black Mesa with its improved textures and visuals generally, that would be really great.

It looks and runs really well. 60fps without DLSS, or 90-100fps+ with DLSS Quality (I'm using 3.1.1 dll).

the lighting makes it feel like a new game lol, especially as you flick between on vs off using the X key.

More in the screenshots thread... I'll be playing the whole game again thanks to this!

Yea, I've never benefitted from the amazing HL sales as I've already had them all.

Those deals, for a kid looking to break their Fortnite habit, are unreal value.

How can anybody not already have Half life in their Steam library!?? I thought it was pretty much mandatory :D
It should come bundled with the Steam install really. Or *shudder* like U2 did on iTunes

It's a disgrace that you didn't have half life 1 in your steam library from day 1 anyway!
Half-Life 1 predates Steam. I have the original CD version so I think you can let me off for that crime against gamers. ;) Anyway balanced has been restored I now have the CD and Steam version.

Quoting myself - what a total dick I am, just discovered I don't have the original Half Life in my Steam library :D

I must have had it on DVD back in the day and then sold it. Got every other Half Life game / mod going except this in my Steam library! 71p it is then.....

I've got a vague memory of buying it in a Currys somewhere, along with an electric razor. What a day that was.

Anyone know of any good texture mods/ other mods to improve the visuals as much as poss? Assuming they work ok with this RT mod....

Hmm, for the life if me I can't get any texture mods to work with this RT update version. I'm normally pretty good at modding and tweaking but I'm struggling here - Anyone got any top tips please?

Texture mods won't work with this RT mod!

Booooo.
Seems that way from what I'm discovering. All the texture mods I can find seem to be quite convoluted to set up. Are there not some really simple texture replacer type ones? Or is it just a flat out no go cos of how this RT mod works? There's got to be a way surely?

Did you actually buy Half-Life again? All you needed to do was add the CD key to your Steam library.

I’d be more tempted to try this out if I knew I’d be able to update the player models etc if texture packs are ruled out. Too many aspects of the game look, well, 25 years old now, to overlook it all with fancy lighting I fear….!
