Halfords Bits

Check the tyre pressures, I know it robs MPG if they are low, and so I should imagine it robs performance as well, and when I pumped up my very low tyre the other day, it certainly seemed to loose the extra sluginess it had taken on of late... (though I never trust things just 'feeling' different, because sometimes apparant changes can be a mental thing...)

(makes note to keep a closer eye on his tyres, it was dangerously low :o )

Thanks for the useful comments guys, as to the majority of un-unseful ones, burn in hell :p

Also, was never my intention to "modify" simply see what small things could be done to increase power output a bit such as fitting higher quality components, no need for people to burn me.

we only playing and more poking fun at otehr peoples misfortune

The only real serious sugestion of merit is weight reduction, but if you want to keep it a practical day to day car stripping it out isn't really an option.

if you are of portly stature lossign a few kgs off your goodself might be worth a thought ;)

Unfortunately you are not going to get much out of it. You can do an ECU remap, but that wont get you very far on a car that doesn't have a turbo and is a small engine.

You can always get one of those resistors. Not sure if they are aload of rubbish. My bed that it probably is.

I decided a reasonable engine size for the clios were the 1.4s. Good on petrol and cheap on insurance.
