Halfords Socket Sets Half Price

Pretty good set, I have the 170 piece & it performed fine removing the entire drivetrain from my Ford Capri last month. Unfortunately I did need to get the odd additional tool as there are a few key bits missing like certain 18mm bits & spanners.
 
This always gets positive feedback. I've got the 170 piece and it has proved invaluable over the years on my car, dishwasher and lawnmower. As mentioned it is missing a few essential pieces depending on the car but it's a great start to building up everything needed.
 
I need to replace a few of my ratchet spanners so this prompted me to check the price.

£50 seems reasonable, oddly if you buy with the screwdriver set it's still £50 so that's even better.

Will check if the above are included in any of the socket sets first though I think. Although I seem to be able to do most jobs nowadays with what I have.
 
Typical..really wanted to get my dad a set for hid birthday back at the end of Feb but Sod's law it was one of the only times they were at full price.

Oh well it's Father's Day in June :)
 
The odd thing is that the Halfords 1/4 inch drive are single hex, the sockets which receive the least stress and abuse! :confused::rolleyes:

The spanners are nice, I have a set as backup for times when you need two of the same size. The screwdrivers are pretty good too.
 
Any recommendations for a set of 1/2 sockets that aren't rubbish but aren't too expensive? I've already got one of the Halfords sets but would prefer some 1/2 sockets for the breaker bar.
