Heard around the internet the odd time that Halfords produce good tools. Is this right? They have some really good deals on there tool sets and i am thinking about getting this set sometime soon http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_173083_langId_-1_categoryId_165572

Would stop me having to borrow the grandads tools when im doing a biggish job on the car and seems a to good of a deal to miss, if i am right in thinking Halfords are good for tools?

I've got that exact set after recommendations on here (it cost £99 at the time). It really is very good.

The stuff in my opinion is pretty good , not great but pretty good. I bought that tool kit for £99.99 last year. It regularly gets reduced to that price.

Thanks guys.

I went to buy a replacement gun for the Halfords pressure washer, as i broke mine by being a bit to heavy handed with it. Told them the complete truth and they have ordered me a new one, free of charge. Didn't even have to show them a receipt. Brilliant stuff!

Then noticed this tool set on the way out. Will get one once Halfords ring me up to tell me the replacement gun as arrived.

For the price and the guarantee I think it's excellent. I've not broken any sockets, extensions or spanners yet (even ratchet spanners) despite them receiving quite a bit of abuse regularly. I have broken a couple of hex bits, which I've not got around to sorting yet, but that's pretty much it in the last 4-5 years.

I've got that set aswell, it's good. If you can, get some decent 6 sided sockets as well, as the set only goes upto 13 in 6 sided, even if it's just from 13 - 19 would help a lot in not rounding off nuts and screw heads.

I built my Westfield almost exclusively with Halfords Professional tools (still love my Britool torque wrench though) and it hasn't fallen apart yet!

Another thumbs up for the Halfords Advanced (or Professional as they used to be called)

I've got the older version of that set, another set of ratchet spanners, 20,21,22 & 24mm double ended spanners and the basic professional screwdriver set. All fantastic so far.

I wore out the fitment on my 6mm hex attachment so it started getting a tendency to pull out without being released by the button. Replaced with minimal fuss. No other problems so far.

12 sided sockets CA be a nightmare of corroded bolts.

All in all I don't acutally that the halfords stuff is really that good a value. I use Clarke pro stuff at work. Cheaper than the halfords set when you're buying individual rails of sockets, 6 sided sockets and they still have a lifetime warranty. Not let me down yet.

Bought the same set a few years ago still going strong, buy majority of tools from Halfords or Brammer (BSL).

I have the professional set, and it's been with me for years. Since at least 2001, I do look after my tools, and they look after me. All of which is still in perfect condition, and all of which has seen some decent usage !

Highly recommended.
