Halifax Overdrafts

I dont think anyone will ever do a decent job of this country, No matter who is in charge there will alwasy be a proble. I do however enjoy winding the Father in law up, hes from Kirkcaldy and thinks the sun shines out of Gordon Browns back side. If Brown said Shoot all children and beat all women he would agree lol. So that is my ticket to take the mick

I pay about 6 quid a month to bos for overdraft. The hundred quid will cover the next year after the free one :p

You shouldn't pay BoS for the overdraft either.

List the banks and building societies in Kirkaldy and I'll give you an alternative with no charges :P

Nationwide are generally speaking an honest institution, and a safe choice if there's one there.

KDY has

Nationwide

HBOS

RBS

Clydesdale

Loyds TSB

Barclays

Bradford Bingley

And Dunfermline

Oh and Aliance and Lester (the child MO....)

£30 a month for being 3p in to an agreed overdraft is ridiculous - off to Alliance & Leicester I go.

B&B and Dunfermline are gone I think. The B&B might open up as a Santander (which is A&L and also Abbey)

Lloyds TSB and HBOS are now the same entity - although they probably do still have distinct policy. I'd avoid them because they'll be going through a whole lot of turmoil soon when they start trying to cut costs.

Clydesdale I don't know much about.

I'd just go for Nationwide to be honest. They won't charge you for having an overdraft. Take the £100 for a year first if you like, but I wouldn't go through the hassle of switching twice.

Just got my letter telling me about the £1 a day charge.

So my arranged overdraft interest charge of about £2 a month is changing to a fee of £30 a month. That's as much as I pay in interest each month on my credit card :/
