Hi. I've been getting a bluescreen when I have 2GB of GeIL RAM in my pc whether its in dual channel or not. I think its my motherboard because I have 2 GB of ram in just now- 1 GB of GeIL and 2 512 mb ones that came with my old pc. The DIMMS work individually so I have no idea whats causing it hopefully you guys can shed some light on whats happening.

EDIT: my mobo is an old asus p5BW if thats any help

Have you setup the correct voltage and timmings in the BIOS!
also are you overclocking, when I changed my memory to 4gig I had to to a BIOS
reset.
Try memtest, could have a faulty batch.

Well I cant change my voltage or timings in the BIOS because my mobo came in my old hp computer and it seems that they lock most of the bios options :'(

That could be a problem, Geil recommend 2.1v approx for there memory modules.
Put one module in and see what CPU-Z shows as the voltage and timmings.

Thats what I get

Just compared your snap shot with mine (running same memory) CPU-Z is not
showing the correct voltage on mine.

It could be like I mentioned before the voltage needs raising, as single they run ok.

Sorry I can't be much more help :(

Rob :)

Looks like thats the only way, unless you could email HP customer support and see if
there is any way round it.
