I've managed to pick up one of those scareware ukash viruses and it has buggered up my machine. Its an old XP PC, it sticks on the welcome screen, if I try to get into any of the safe modes, it BSODs and for some reason, I can't seem to get into my BIOS at the start of bootup (could it be because I have a USB keyboard? It lets me try to start Safemode by pressing F8 but thats about it. im kinda stuck and am open to suggestions as to how I can get into it to rescue it? i have malwarebytes on it but I just cant get at it!

get a bootable AV if your desperate it only needs to find and delete the stupid program that runs at boot.
you could even just plug the drive into a diff machine and then scan that drive.

once you can boot into windows just run whatever anti virus you trust.

I've removed ukash with combofix before but it was the old version where you could just boot into safe mode and get rid of it easily

Ubuntu live CD/USB? Once your in you'll probably realise how good Ubuntu is lol Anyway......Once your in download any AV, scan and PROFIT.

I think part of my problem is that I'm using a wireless keyboard through a USB, I have a feeling it isn't activating til just after the boot option disappears, thus not allowing me to set it to boot from CD. I assume, if I dig up an old ps2 keyboard, that'll stop that problem?
