even as someone who's interested in the subject, I thought it was pretty dull and the acting was a little ropey. Chances are it'll be lucky to see out its first season run

much prefer silicon valley to this.

really liked halt and catch fire season 1 but after watching silicon valley, season 2 of halt and catch fire seems a bit meh

You're comparing a comedy (pretty mediocre one tbh) to a Drama!
What a silly and pointless comparison and imho Halt and Catch Fire is a far better Drama then what Silicon Valley is as a Comedy!
