Hamilton to Mercedes? BBC

Hamilton doesn't crash a lot I agree, he just seems to regularly involved in something - whether this be on track, something he said (or tweeted) something he has done away from F1 etc. and I think it brings peoples view of him down. When ignoring everything else and focusing on the man who drives a car he is generally brilliant.

I don't know what it is about Alonso but something grates for me, ever since his Renault days. Saying that though if I was running an F1 team he would be top of the list for a driver to have. I think given the the perfect car, perfect conditions, perfect set up etc then Hamilton and Vettel are probably marginally quicker for 1 lap but taking a driver as a whole it has to be Alonso.

I think he needs a move, but not to Mercedes. He needs someone to be more strict with him and manage him better than what mclaren are doing.

This is more of a Lewis and his management team (if you can call them that) issue than a team issue.

I think people are getting a bit carried away though. Last year he was a bit all over the place, but this year he has really sorted his head out and is much improved, yet after just one tweet everyone has started raving about how he's gone back to his old ways.

It was just one random tweet. We're at least 3 collisions, 5 trips to the stewards office, a bunch of random rants and a stupid black joke away from where he was last year :)

theres no way merc would pay hamilton 30mil

rosberg and schumacher only get 8

anyway as i said before eddie speaks so much BS i dont know why people take him seriously.

occasionally hes right but hundreds of times in between he isnt.

schumacher was retiring in 2010 , kimi was going to join williams etc.

The German team are so keen to sign the 27-year-old for the next campaign they are prepared to hand him a deal which would eclipse Michael Schumacher's £16.5m-a-season package.

I don't see it as a bad move, in fact I see Mercedes eventually surpassing mc (if the manufacturer backs them) and mc going backwards, surely they haven't the funds that Mercedes has? Especially now they will have to fund the whole team themselves

There's no reason that Mercedes couldn't win it next year tbh

Hamilton is a bit of an ego. He'd probably love the chance to compete with the best/most successful F1 driver of all time, in the same car.

For that alone I can see him interested in it.

Although I don't see a good reason for Merc to boot out Nico.

Nico to McLaren would be a good move.

I think he's get on well with Button,, and he's still young enough to be the future of the team. He's obviously got talent, possible not the greatest talent in F1 but enough to win a championship given the car Lewis had in 2008 or Button in 2009.

As for Lewis, a move would see him grow up a bit, and learn a lot.

With a big rule change coming and mercedes now having a full GP team (staffing levels were decimated in 2009/10) they could be a force to be reckoned with in 2014.

schumacher doesnt earn 16.5mil a season thats pretty much 100% garunteed.
rosberg has a clause in his contract that he would earn atleast the same wage as whoever was the other driver in the team (his contract was signed before any rumours of schumacher joining)
theres no way merc would have atleast doubled rosbergs wage just because schumacher was signing.
schumachers always made the majority of his money from personal sponsors and that 60mil is about 25% of the rumoured yearly budget mercedes has a season so i dont see them paying anywhere near that for any driver even if senna came back from the dead..

i dont see why hamilton would sign for a midfield team even if he was offered 1 billion a race especially when theres no guarantee they will continue in f1, as i said the guy who is likely to take over CEO of daimler when dieter steps down is anti f1 as are a lot of the daimler shareholders these days.

hamilton seems to be the type who gets frustrated when he cant challenge for race wins aswell , i doubt anyone wants to see him banging wheels with someone race after race like he did with massa not to long ago
