AFAIK they film the studio stuff literally a few days before it airs on a Sunday.

Only the Location stuff!... Each Episode (Warehouse/studio, Star in a Resonably Priced Car, Stig Driving stuff FAST) is filmed on a Wednesday (from about 2pm till 9pm) and then Edited with the Location Stuff and snipped down to 57 minutes (approx) plus credits and Aired on the Sunday!... :)

Why would anyone know so much about Top Gear!
 
You only need to disclose to the DVLA a condition/injury/ailment etc which is likely to affect you for a period of 3 or more months.

The DVLA are at bit vague regarding time off dring following serious head injury. Their own website states, "SERIOUS HEAD INJURY,
NO NEUROSURGICAL INTERVENTION. Usually 6 – 12 months off driving depending on features (PTA, dural tear, focal signs & seizures) and clinical recovery."

But hen goes onto say," Where consciousness was lost but there is no history of intracranial haematoma, depressed fracture or seizures and clinical recovery is full and complete, driving may resume without notifying DVLA."

So I assume if he`s made a full recovery then he can drive without informing the DVLA. But then again given his job and insurance risk he`ll have already undergone extensive neurological examination, investigation and a driving assessment, if only for insurance purposes. He`ll be a lot safer than the rest of us on the road. Excluding any OcUK motors forum poster.

Naaa its just I got tickets for the show (before this happened!, dunno if they're tranferrable to when its back on!) and it was Wednesday 2pm till 8:30/9pm... :p

The rest is just what you get from the banter on the show!... like when JC had a bad back and wasn't allowed to drive!... they said "Thank god we did all the location stuff over the summer!"
