The origial unaltered trilogy is finally coming to DVD, see Han shoot first, see Starwars as you saw it in the cinema

Happy Happy joy joy

Oh goody.
Maybe that will finally shut up the "We want the original" and "How dare anyone mess around with the film I saw as a kid" brigade.
Maybe now they will stop their moaning, complaining etc.

Me?
I'll stick to the versions the director obviously wanted to release in the first place but couldn't for whatever reason.

As in - no Christensen in Anakin ghost scenes, no plasticky additions to Mos Eisley architecture and no Jabba in hangar? Sign me in.

This uncovers another George Lucas Lie then!!!...

He stated (and has staded on many occasions!) "We Can't re-release the original versions of the trilogy as they don't exist in there original state!, due to Cleaning and re-mastering the heavily degraded stock is not in existance any more!" (or words to that effect!!)

Ooo As DanSolo said

kerrrr-ching!

He waited till we all bought the two trilogy's and now hes going to cash in on our nostalga!... Que a 6 film box-set with masses of extras/Merchandise/Free Toys (Like the LOTR Gollum etc...) and both versions of the films on Seamless-Branching DVD's to be released in time for Christmas

The guy can't win. People moan and moan because they can't get their precious originals, then he decides to back down and release them........and then he becomes a money grabbing so-and-so

Though I think they really should have done this in the first place, I'm hoping they do a good job with it, but for the most part of the original trilogy, it's not the visual effects but the sound that makes the film good, so even if it was legomen It would still be great :p

Will likely be forking out for it, just as it's limited as well.

I'm a bit thick.
Without me googling what is this Hans Solo shoots first mean?

Basically, in the original Star Wars, when Greedo confronts Han in the cantina, han shoots him, end of story.

In the special edition, they edited it to make Han look a bit better, or whatever, by making Greedo shoot first, and adding a silly little single frame movement of Han kind of dodging it, and getting a shot off and killing him.

Really silly and pointless really.

I am happy with my current Star Wars DVDs, I personally think that the 1997 versions are better.

As for the 2004 versions, I like the fact that Ian McDairmid is now the Emperor in Empire but I do not like the addition of Hayden Christianson into Jedi - I wouldn't have minded much if they aged him but it is daft with him there at that age!!

No its not because he was that age when Anakin died and Darth Vader was born so his ghost would look young.

Nooooo!

But Anakin tells Luke before he dies that he has saved him (or words to that effect) so it should deffinitely be an old Anakin

please remind me why it matters who shot first? I understand the difference - but I don't understand why it should matter - it's hardly an alternative ending.

Because Han doesn't look as cool

I will be buying because I am a HUGE Wars fan and I wasnt born when the Originals came to the screen which means I never got to see the original Originals :)

The spirit stays as the form of the time the Jedi died ;)
But then strictly speaking in the EU, Sith have the ghost trick too which means in essence, there should be two ghost Anakin/Vader people.
One good Anakin, one evil Vader! :p

HANG ON!!! I thought it was better special effects to make it look as though Han had done a super trick shot that bounced right next to his face so as not to make it obvious that he was about to shoot!!

*Gets it out.....*
