Hi. as some of you may know. i have found a new job and i am planning to resign.

The problem is my boss is in the other office 300+miles away from the office i work in.

Shall i email him a scanned copy of my resignation letter thats signed and then post the hardcopy by post?

Should i call him and tell him from the phone before emailing him?

i report to 3 people. one is a team leader, another is a project leader/manager(the person i am going to contact) and the other is like teh director/cto.

two former i have a bit of working relationship with so i will phone my project manager who is easy person to talk to.

A shame this did not happen yesterday because he was here in the london office!

Just write an email with the scanned signed letter of resignation attached, but state that the original hard copy will be posted to him.

As a manager of a company, i would go as far as accepting it over the phone if the relationship has gone bad between you and the company.

If not, phone and let him know you will send one in the post. I certainly wouldn't have a problem with that.

I would give him a call, send him an email with a scanned copy of the letter and post him the original. Be polite as there is no point in burning bridges.

alex mcleish handed his in via email......apparently that's how the world is these days so I don't see a problem with emailing?

If he prefers a letter just tell him to click "print"
