Airblades have filters on the air intakes for that reason. No guarantees that the people who run the facility have kept them maintained though.

not only does it take awhile to get hot water through the pipes, in England we seem to have a hatred of mixer taps, meaning hot tap is pointless.

With even fairly modern kit, a mixer tap is pointless. There's no longer any need to mix water that's too cold with water that's too hot in order to get water at the desired temperature. Just set it to whatever you want on the boiler controls. Tap water at x, heating water at y, job done.

Lol so you can never get proper hot water for washing or anything else. And also messes up washing machines that take hot and cold water. As well as most bath mixer taps that always mixaome cold water in for aafetry. So yeah that's a terriable idea. Mixer taps are still very much needed.

If I need water >40C I can boil a kettle and add that. Or I can just turn a knob on my boiler to whatever temperature I want the water to be for that particular purpose. It's more efficient and more convenient than overheating water and then mixing in the right amount of cold water.

Let's say you and I want water at 60C for some reason:

Me: Turn the water temperature dial on my boiler controls to 60C. Turn on tap.

You: Turn on two taps and adjust them both to guess at 60C for the combined water.

Why is your method better than mine, let alone the only possible method (as you claim it is)?

And also messes up washing machines that take hot and cold water.

My washing machine has a heater and a thermosensor, so it has water at whatever temperature it requires. Which is usually 40C. Which is the temperature I have my water set to.

Something which is only needed if you lack the option of heating water to the desired temperature and have to fall back on having water that's too hot and water that's too cold and mixing the two.

I haven't had a mixer tap for 20 years. I haven't needed one. I'd rather have water at directly useful temperature rather than having to waste energy heating water to hotter than I want and then mixing it with cold water to reduce the temperature.
