Hanns-G monitor resolution issue

I use a Hanns G monitor in conjuction with my laptop as an external display. Recently the 1440x990 resolution has went missing from the display options.

After a while - I reinstalled the driver for the monitor to no-avail. The .inf file for the monitor contains info about the native resolution but it appears that in my display properties - there simply aint any option for 1440x990.

I believe that my IBM Thinkpad has an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics card if that is any help.

Anyone got any ideas how I can force windows to display the native resolution of the monitor?

if its the hanns g hw191d then it dont support 1440x990 its 1440x900 so may be why.

Oops, apologies for the typo. Currently display settings are only showing other resolutions, ie. 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024 etc...

I had done some searching around and I found that you can manually edit the resolution information in the registry.

Does anyone know exactly where this information would be stored?

my 19" belina ws had the same problem and the only way i could sort it was by using powerstrip
